Program Manager for In50hrs

In the United States, more than 28,000 new startups come up. In India, we see close to 500 - 700 new startups. In50hrs is an effort by The Startup Centre to change that. Drastically.

Over the past three years, The Startup Centre has been spearheading an initiative to increase the number of new startups and products that emerge out of India. In50hrs is modelled around some of the popular hack-a-thon events, but has some very distinct flavor that enables new startups come up.

In50hrs is one of the leading events in india, that produces ACTUAL startups. Every year, more than 1600 people participate in In50hrs, More than 400 prototypes are built, close to 150 new products and 28 startups are born. We are active in nine cities across the country (and expanding to more)

The role of the  Program manager would be to drive these program in various cities, that we operate in and to take responsibility for further evolving it. You will be hands on, be given plenty of space to execute your own ideas, and will be in a position to influence the next generation of startups in this country. Isnt that exciting?

What should you have to qualify?

It goes without saying that you should love the process of ideating, brainstorming, doing market research and a genuine love in building new products.

If you are a coder, or atleast dabble in code, you will get preference. Someone with strong communication skills, operation capability - to collaborate and work with out partners, and the experience and leaning for teaching others (without being arrogant) would be great characteristics. We like to be around positive and energetic people - so we do expect this person to be an extrovert and like hanging out with people. 

Understanding of the process of how prototypes are built. And knowing keywords such as Lean Startup, Analytics, Design thinking, etc would be required.

This will also require inter-departmental communication and collaboration - between the partnership and sponsors team, the marketing team, the community manager etc. You should play well with others.

This is a role that will require travelling.
